Choosing an Information System Architecture

A share-trading firm wants to provide clients the option to manage their portfolios through its Web site. You have been assigned the job of identifying the server architecture that will be required to implement this change. Since the server needs to store confidential client information, the company wants the server to be as secure as possible. The company has a limited budget and is looking for a cost-effective solution. As the company has a competent IT department, setting up the server will not be a problem.

Research and compare the capabilities and costs of Linux and Windows operating systems for the server. Based on your research, recommend either Windows or Linux operating system for Web site hosting for the given scenario.
