Where Do Population Data Come From?
1. Describe population pyramids to discuss the demography of aging to a non-student of demography.
2. Next, explain the demographic divide as the dichotomy between the needs of young and old between developed and developing countries (use Appendix B).
3. Explain the compression of mortality, and how the dependent and active life expectancy fit into expectation for serving an aging population. Do all 65 year olds globally have the same dependency needs?
4. Finally, compare disability and active life expectancy globally.
