Summary
The purpose of this study is to inquire about the discipline of high performance sport management and also to identify the responsibilities of the directors of high performance in ensuring there is success by athletes. In order to identify the two purposes there is use of the funnel of high performance sport management (HPSM). The participants in this study are the individual athletes and their close environment which are the parents and the friends to the athletes. In the study we look at how these athletes should be managed whereby we discover that the high performance directors have to develop systems and processes that will play a role in retaining, and nurturing the athletes.
