You’ve cloned a 2-kb fragment of DNA from the G38APO8 gene into a bacterial cloning vector and want to construct a restriction map of the insert. You amplify the 2-kb insert using PCR, purify it, and subject it to differential digestion with the enzymes EcoRI and HindIII, gel-fractionate the digests, and visualize the restriction patterns by staining the gels with E-Z vision to generate the following results. Using this map, draw and label what you would expect the gel banding pattern to be for each of the two restriction enzymes separately and if you digested the fragment with both enzymes together (draw three gels). Numbers on the map indicate the number of base pairs between cut sitessince the pic isnt workingEcoRI HindIII EcoRI HindIII EcoRi_150________600______100_____525_______________425____200The first EcoRI is close to 150, the second is closer to 100 than 525 and the last is in the middle of 425 and 200HindIII is closest to 100 than 600 and its in the middle of 525 and 425 but slightly closer to 425
Suppose you discovered that a mouse lacking copies of the conventional kinesin gene appeared to show no ill effects and lived to a ripe old age. What could you conclude about the role of kinesin in intracellular locomotion?
Lack's model for clutch size evolution forecast the optimal number of offspring in a clutch as those which produce the most offspring.
A Western Blot (immunoblot) can be used as both a direct and as an indirect test. Explain how, comparing it first to a direct ELISA, and then to an indirect ELISA. Where do the antibodies and antigens come from in each case? What information does ..
describe the sequence of events that lead to the exocytosis of acetylcholine in the synaptic cleft of a postganglionic parasympathetic neuron. Start with an exon dendritic nicotinic receptor in a terminal ganglia.
What would be the phenotypic ratio of pod shape and plant size together?

Obese adipose tissue is characterized by infiltration of macrophages. We and others recently showed that a specific subset of macrophages is hired to obese adipose and muscle tissue.
If parasympathetic inputs are then restored, heart rate drops to approximately 70 beats per minute. Would this be an example of tonic or antagonistic control and why?
Explain why carcinomas are more common than sarcomas? Describe briefly your favourite new term or concept from this class.
You find a female fruit fly with short back hair. You cross it with a normal male fruit fly (long back hair). The offspring that come out are: 1/3 female with short backhair, 1/3 females with long backhairs and 1/3 males with long backhair. What i..
suppose you found that molecule A, which had a molecular mass of 1500 daltons, was able to penetrate the channels of a gap junction, but molecule B, whose molecular mass was only 1200 daltons, was unable to diffuse between the same cells. how migh..
