Question 1: Click on Tours and Tour Companies for links to several tour company websites. Check out a few tours and CHOOSE ONE to work with. What is the name of the tour company and the name of the tour? Which type of tour is it, and why do you say that? (Choose from types of tours listed above.) If you aren't sure which type of tour it is, review your text to make sure you understand what defines the different tour types. Note that I'm looking for a tour that lasts for multiple days, not a tour that lasts only hours or one day! There are literally hundreds of tours, so it should be easy to find one that has not already been discussed! In your post: Tell us the name of the tour company, and point us to the particular tour you have selected (a link to the web page would be helpful). Give us the name of the tour, a brief description, destination(s), and its key components Explain why it fits the type of tour you have indicated. It's possible that some tours may fit more than one category. If your tour fits more than one category, explain how it fits each category. For your second post of the week, you may respond to Prompt #2, or respond to a classmate's tour -- one you find particularly interesting. What else would you like to know about your classmate's tour? If you had this tour recommended to you, what would be your questions? Discuss why it is/ is not a "fit" for your travel "personality."
Question 2: This week, you have been exposed to some new trends in tours -- trends that differ from the old "If it's Tuesday, it must be Belgium" type of escorted tour, in which a big group of people are led around by a tour guide hoisting a yellow umbrella, and then herded on a bus to the next stop. Describe a new trend in tours and comment on it. Try to find an example of a tour that exemplifies a different type of traveling in contrast to the "herd" mentality. Why do you think these new types of tours are becoming popular?
