In this weeks listening we had two movements from symphonies, Haydn’s Surprise Symphony, and Mozart’s Symphony no. 40. I want you to write about your experience in listening to these two pieces. Focus on trying to hear individual instruments and distinguish them from one another. Are you able to distinguish legato and staccatos notes? Are you able to hear the differences between woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings? Can you hear the difference between a high violin part and a low cello part? What are you struggling with? Are some instruments harder for you to distinguish apart from one another then others? What are you unsure about? Length: 300 words.
