Review the following case. You are to answer the questions posed in a paragragh format.

Renee Lansing is 52 years of age and is physically active. She enjoys excellent health. One day, while returning home from work, she could not remember where she lived. It took her 4 hours to make it home. Two days later, she began to mumble unusual sounds and could speak no words. She was taken to the hospital. The next day, a brain tumor was diagnosed. Surgery was performed. Physicians were unable to remove all the tumor, which was found to be benign, but fast growing. Renee had some good weeks after surgery, but in 3 months, she was placed in a nursing home. Within 5 months she had died.

Discuss the differences between benign and malignant tumors.

What vital centers of the brain do you think were first affected by Renee's tumor and why based on her symptoms?
