In 1916, a group of women from Massachusetts published this series of "Anti-Suffrage Essays

Many of these women were prominent leaders of their community, and yet they passionately argued against their own voting rights. (You don't actually have to read all of these essays, but if you want to skim through a few, try: "I: Suffrage Fallacies"; "XII: The Anti-Suffrage Ideal"; "XIV: The True Function of the Normal Woman"; "XV: The Imperative Demand Upon Women in the Home".)

Think about your response to the original pop question. Do you stand by your answer? Did race and/or class factor into your thought process?
