Together, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group produced, licensed, and distributed over 85% of the digital music sold in the United States. The companies formed Music4All to sell music to online services that sold the songs to consumers. Music4All required all of the services to sell the songs at the same price and subject to the same restrictions. Digitization of music became cheaper over time, but Music4All did not change its prices.
