Inclusion Education Plans
CREATING INCLUSIVE EARLY CHILDHOOD SETTINGS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
For this assessment task, you will need to work in small groups of no more than five (5) students, to devise an inclusive education strategic plan based on the following scenario:
You are the teaching team working in the 4-to-5-year room of an early childhood service. The children and families in your setting are diverse and as a result you need to ensure your curriculum and teaching practices are reflective and inclusive of this diversity. Currently you have 25 children attending across the week, including typically developing children and four (4) children with identified exceptionalities.
Child A: diagnosed with autism
Child A struggles to comprehend spoken language and express themselves clearly. This could hinder their participation in classroom discussions and activities. Forming relationships and engaging in social interactions may be challenging for Child A. They might face difficulties in understanding social cues and norms, impacting their ability to collaborate and communicate with peers. Get top-notch online assignment help now.
Child A displays repetitive behaviours, which could potentially disrupt their learning process and the classroom environment.
Child B: diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Child B exhibits difficulties in sustaining attention, impulsiveness, and hyperactivity. These challenges can affect their ability to focus on tasks, follow instructions, and engage in classroom activities. Child B displays defiant and oppositional behaviour towards authority figures, leading to conflicts and disruptions in the classroom environment.
Child C with cerebral palsy
Child C's cerebral palsy affects their mobility, making it difficult to move, stand, or walk independently.
Fine Motor Difficulties: Fine motor skills, such as grasping objects and writing, may be challenging for Child C due to impaired muscle control.
Child D: diagnosed with an anxiety disorder
Child D experiences heightened levels of anxiety, which can interfere with their ability to participate in activities, engage with peers, and cope with changes.
Your group's submission must consider current government funding; the National Quality Standards; the importance of plans for the service and individual children, behaviour management plans; pedagogical practices; curriculum development; and environment provision. Using the templates provided the submission must include:
The plan should outline how you are going to work with your team, other professionals, and families to develop an inclusive educational setting and curriculum that will facilitate, extend, and enrich learning for all.
This plan should include four (4) completed individual education or behaviour management plans for the children identified with an exceptionality in the above situational context.
Each plan should address a child with a specific exceptionality. Tailor each plan to the child's unique needs, ensuring inclusivity.
