A reflection on growth, development and ageing in exercise science careers

This assessment task will assess your ability to apply key concepts of growth, development and ageing to a series of case clients. This is very important for demonstrating your knowledge of the unit content, and to apply it to ‘real world' scenarios.

Description of the assessment task
This assessment task aims to explore the role of growth, development and ageing in your future career as an exercise scientist. It seeks to develop your critical thinking skills, facilitate self-evaluation and allow you to identify potential employment opportunities of interest.
You will be required to assess your current interests, values and skills to inform what is important to you in a future career. This information will then be used to identify career opportunities available within the field of exercise science that fit your identified interests, values and skills. Finally, you will review one key position of interest and reflect on the role that growth, development and/or ageing plays in this career.
This report will include a 4 step process including the following:
Step 1: Complete the self-awareness audits. Please note the self- awareness audit will be completed during week 9 and used during the seminar in week 10.
Step 2: Identify one potential career opportunity to that links to your skills, interests and values.
Step 3: Reflect on how growth, development and/or ageing content, knowledge and/or skills are relevant to this career.
Step 4: Draft a written reflection
STRUCTURE (for Presentation)
Structure your report using headings and sub-headings as appropriate and include a list of references. Please use 11 or 12 point font in any conventional format (e.g., Times New Roman, Calibri) with line spacing of 1.5. Please also justify your work.
