This week the lab assignment is to develop the Statement of Work for your lab project. For the subject for your project consider doing a database on something you’re a familiar with. With many students in the healthcare informatics program there have been well done projects on Medical activities (tracking doctors, patients & appointments, or tracking lab activities, for example. I have seen very well-done projects for student's collections (such as music, video games, photography) and activities (youth sports leagues, a church's Sunday school classes, a weekend gaming convention). For the SOW you are not providing detailed descriptions of the database structure, but the principle entities in the database should be identifiable when reading the SOW. For example, the Sunday school project tracked students, parents, teachers, classes and rooms.
