Develop regression model for predicting the selling price of a house.
Assume that you will be selling your house and you are trying to develop a model to predict the eventual sale price of your home. You are interested in getting as many offers as possible so you do not want to set the asking price of the house too high since that would result in fewer people considering the property. On the other hand if the asking price is too low, you might be tempted to sell the property at too low a price and not realize an appropriate profit. You have available some old data (about ten years old) which you feel is the best you can get in the time frame in which you are working. You feel that by approximately doubling the old prices you would get values that are appropriate for current home sales.
Pick a random sample of 50 homes from the enclosed 90 cases. Double the asking price and selling price and use this data to develop three predictive models:
Develop a model for predicting the selling price of a house.
Estimating the value of the population mean on the basis of the sample mean alone produces a(n):
These can have a large impact on tenure and promotion decisions at many institutions. One particular instructor had ratings in 3 courses in one semester as given by the table below for the statement "The instructor is an excellent teacher.
Answer to a problem based on statistical graphics.Create a c-bar chart and determine if corrective action is needed.
Sketch the appropriate distribution, and locate the critical region for a = 0.05.
Find the critical value and test statistic value follows normal distribution.
Does this sample indicate a smaller average? Use α = 0.05 and assume a normally distributed population.
For a binomial probability experiment, with n=150 and p=.2, it is appropriate to use the normal approximation to the binomial distribution.
In comparing two variances below, determine test value and what are degrees of freedom that must be used?
Findout the consumption level separating the bottom 45% to the top 55%. The September energy consumption levels for single family homes are found to the normally distributed with a mean
What are the possible combinations of coins that Sanjay could have received in change?
The lifetime of a light bulb is an Exponential RV with a mean of 800 hours. Let L represent the time (in hours) that one randomly selected light bulb will burn. What is the possibility the light bulb burns for more than 1000 hours.
