Assessment instruction

Your situation analysis from Assessment 1 should have afforded valuable research and insights. You may need to gather more information specific to the new digital marketing opportunity, but as this is not specifically a marketing research assignment do not spend inappropriate time gathering research. Instead, state any assumptions you need to make if research information is not available.

Building upon your earlier analysis (Assessment 1) and recommendation (Assessment 2), you are now required to develop a series of digital marketing tactics to support your new digital marketing development/opportunity. Support your recommended marketing tactics with a sound rationale.

Report Structure (Marketing Tactics and Implementation)

Some brief information on the implementation processes, or feedback/control measures would be welcomed. You should spend most of your time (and word limit) focusing on the last three headings/sections: Digital Marketing Objectives; Target Market/s; and Key Digital Marketing Tactics. The marks for these latter sections are weighted quite heavily in the marking rubric, so this is where you should be spending most of your time and energy.

The simplified structure for Assessment 3 is (word counts are a guide):

Summary of situational analysis - from Assessment 1 (200 words)
Digital marketing objectives - set objectives that underpin your chosen digital marketing recommendation and tactics (remember SMART objectives are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-based) (200 words).

Target market/s - identify your target audience (300 words).
Key digital marketing tactics and implementation - identify key digital marketing tactics to help meet the stated objectives, in addition to meeting the needs of the target audience (500-700 words).

Analyse rather than describe. You need to present an analysis/evaluation; this means identifying the key issues and deciding on the most important and relevant information you need to include.

Use ‘evidence' to support your analysis and subsequent recommendations. Analysis evidence can often be succinctly (well) presented in tables, charts or graphs.

Use your analysis to support your recommendations (the ‘why?'). There is no one ‘right' answer to a case study and the marker is looking for you to support your opinion. Have you explained how you came to that conclusion?
