Comparative analysis of uniform and non-uniform shading on the efficiency and power output of a PV panel using LABVIEW
Using Multisim software from National Instruments to model the PV module and then use LABVIEW to analyze the results and graphically display the IV and PV characteristics under the different varying shading conditions.
To execute this project the first step is to develop an equivalent circuit of a PV module. This can be modelled using a diode connected in shunt to an ideal current source, a shunt resistor and a series resistor.
The ideal current source produces a photocurrent that is proportional to the solar energy incident on the PV cell. Series and shunt resistances represents the internal resistances that can be contact resistance due to bonding between wire leads and the cell or the semiconductor resistance. When there is no current the PV cell behaves like a diode.
