Problem
Objective: The objective of this project is to design and simulate a scalable and secure network architecture for IoT applications, addressing the challenges of accommodating a growing number of devices while ensuring robust security and optimal performance. Students will develop a network design that supports real-time, low-latency communication and validates its scalability and security through simulation, equipping them with practical skills to tackle real-world IoT networking challenges. Scenario: A smart city is deploying IoT devices for monitoring and automating various services such as traffic control, environmental monitoring, and smart homes. The city needs a network architecture that: Can scale to accommodate an increasing number of IoT devices. Ensures secure communication and data integrity. Supports real-time data transmission and low-latency requirements. You are tasked to design and simulate a scalable and secure network architecture that meets these requirements. Phase 1: Design Phase- Research and propose a scalable network architecture for IoT, incorporating technologies like edge computing, fog computing, and cloud integration.
