The Greene City Capital Group (GCCG) is expanding their business by investing in the banking sector. As a project manager, you have been assigned to manage the "GCCG e-Banking Portal project".
After the project statement of work (SOW) and project charter were created, the sponsor of the GCCG e-Banking Portal project, Vicky Morris, has authorized the project.
Since then, you have created the project stakeholder register, the project management plan, the scope statement, and the work breakdown structure (WBS).
All the appropriate activities are now identified. Their appropriate relationships with each predecessor are also established. It is time to estimate the activity resources for your project.
During previous meetings, it was determined, based on the work packages, that the following resources will be required for these roles:
- Technical Experts
- Software Development Leads
- External Consultants
- Functional Managers
- Software Development Team
- Software Architects
- Web Designers
- Graphic Designers
- Software Testing Team
- Documentation Team
- Network Specialists
- Network Engineers
- Website Administrator
One area of concern is based on recent discussions as to whether GCCG has enough graphic designers to design the portal and technical writers to document the functionality of the portal.
1. What are some additional factors that you will consider when identifying the resources to fill the identified roles?
2. What are some things that you will consider when determining the external consultants and technical experts?
3. As the project manager, what factors will you consider making a decision on whether to outsource graphic designing?
4. What other types of resources, other than people, will you list for the e-Banking Portal project?
5. Summarize your findings from the research and reflect on them.
