In this assignment, you will determine the allocation of new employees that you have been authorized to hire in order to carry out the organizational goals identified in the Unit 2 assignment. You will do this for your declared functional area as well as for the human resources area.

Follow these steps to complete this project component (all of the required documents are given in the Resources):

Read the information to understand your directives and parameters, and then use the information to revise the organizational charts for the human resources area and your declared functional area.

Download the organizational chart for the human resources area.

Review the organizational chart to determine where the new resources are to be assigned.

Revise the organizational chart to reflect the allocation of resources to be added.

Include, at the bottom of the revised organizational chart, a justification for your decisions.

Prepare a one-page reflection write up on the revised organizational charts you just completed for the human resource area and your declared functional area, which addresses the following questions:

How does the chain of command influence or affect your role as manager? How does it affect the organizational functions?

What research was used to support your work, in determining the new organizational chart? Use APA style and formatting to cite your sources.

What current or past experience did you draw from, if any?

Use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, or PowerPoint to create your revised organizational charts. If you need additional support in using these programs, review the respective Microsoft Office tutorials listed in the Resources.

Prior to submitting your assignment, review the project description and Organizational Charts Scoring Guide to ensure you have met the overall project requirements and all of the criteria for this assignment.

Submit these three items as attachments to the assignment area:

MANAGEMENT STUDY

Discussion 1

The main themes of this article were based on communication, diversity within an organization, ethics, change and management itself with regards to targets, goals, time and personal management. While going through the article, I came through the fact that today, management is not all about the person in charge but the organization as a whole. Also, there are no criteria as to who can be a manager and who cannot. To add on that, we find that an organization could have a variety of managers with different titles, Therefore, in exploring this topic; this will help in understanding how their relations work and how they affect one another besides gaining knowledge on how they are structured.

From a professional and personal point of view regarding experience, I found that ethics in an organization is critical since workers and managers need to be put in check regarding performing their duties. Also setting and ensuring targets achieved is a key tradition/component of most organizations. Without communication, however, any organization will crumble thus most emphasis is put on structures and systems of communication in an organization.

Discussion 2

I strongly agree with the fact that I have a positive attitude to those holding positions of power over me because a good leader should set an example by being a good follower because other people look up to you just as much as they are under you. I also strongly agree that I enjoy competition and I strive to win for myself and my work group because competition breeds motivation and I like to be motivated all the time. I thrive on competition because most importantly it keeps me on my toes besides doing away with laziness. I also like to tell others what to do and have no problem imposing sanctions to enforce my directives because as a Manager you are a key decision maker and being robust and firm for your team is part of who you are even when you don't please everybody. In the end, success brings us closer and that is why I strongly believe in that.

I like being active, assertive and protecting members of my work group first by setting an example to motivate them and ensuring the team is united because divisions derail our purpose and mission. I also firmly believe I am willing to perfume routine, day to day administrative tasks because as I said a manager must set the best example for the subordinates to follow. However, I strongly disagree that I enjoy standing out from a group and behaving in a unique manner, because as a manager I am part of a team and not just an individual, therefore, we stand out together as a group, incorporating all our uniqueness that makes us a functioning team. In the end, the result did not surprise me because I know myself as a person and as a leader, I know my strengths, weaknesses and limitations.

Discussion 3

Other than Human Resource, I will be the manager for the Sales and Marketing team. I chose sales and marketing because it and area that I am very confident and comfortable with. Since sales and marketing deals with promoting a brand, dealing interacting and communicating with the target group, I believe, other than my management my management skills, my public relations and advertising skills will be of great service given that I have a mass communication degree and experience previously working part time for an advertising firm

Some of the factors that I intend to address as the manager is innovations, quality, teamwork, creativity, communication and utilization of resources. I want to set the best conditions for maximum input regarding working and maximum output in terms selling our brand out there by ensuring it meets the required standards that would automatically satisfy the customers. Also providing a healthy environment for the workers is of utmost priority to enable us to meet our desired targets through innovations, creativity, and hard work when it comes to sales and marketing.
