In the state of Oklahoma the county roads are designated with a number and a letter. E on roads extending east and west and S on roads extending north and south. Those roads traveling east and west are designated a number and the letter E. Those roads traveling north and south are designated with a number and an N. I under stand that the N represents that the road is north of the equator. What does the E stand for. I assume it means east of, but what is the East base point. I would guess that all E and W designations mean east or west of the prime meridian. That assumption on my part must be incorrect because in Oklahoma we are west of the prime meridian. I doubt that the international date line is what we are east of in Oklahoma when determining what the E stands for in our road numbering system. Also does the number mean " degrees from O degrees as N 2100 would mean 2100 degrees north of the equator?
The aluminium wire has a radius of 1.1mm. What must be the radius of the steel wire if it is to stretch the same distance as the aluminium wire, so that the two wires maintain equal lengths after the masses are attached?
A gas flows along the x axis with a speed of v = 5x m/s and a presure of p = 10x^2 N/m^2, where x is in meters. a) Determine the time rate of change of pressure at the fixed location x = 1.
The area is about 100,000 ha, the ground water pumping about 500 million m3 per year, and the water table drop about 3 m per year. Assuming no replenishment, what is the specific yield of the aquifer material
if the settling velocity of a particle is 2.8 mm/s and the overflow rate of an upflow clarifier is .56 cm/s what percent of the particles are retained in the clarifier
Assume that 30% of the ash falls out as bottom ash in the furnace. Calculate the efficiency of an ESP (electrostatic precipitator) required to meet federal new source performance standards
The three hinged arch is composed of segments of a circle. Support points A and D are not at the same level. Determine (a) the horizontal and vertical components of reaction at A and D. (b) the shear, thrust, and moment in the arch at point C.
design a cylindrical composite column consisting of some steel rods, and also wrapped in nano-fiber material. The column must support a compressive axial force of 500 kips. The columns length is 5 ft.
Our ESP is collecting 95% of the particles in our exhaust stream. We are under pressure to improve its performance. It has been suggested that if we were to cool the inlet gas from the present 600°F to 250°F
At a certain altitude and time, a rocket's acceleration is 2.5 g. One gravity (g) is equivalent to 32.2 ft/s^2. What is the rocket's acceleration in meters per square second
compute the finals velocities v1' and v2' after collision of the two cylinders which slide on the smooth horizontals shaft. The cofficient of restitution is e= 0.6. m1 = 2 kg, v1= 7m/s and m2 = 3 kg , v2 = 5 m/s
calculate the density of a mixture of 90% air and 10% SO2 at a temperature of 150 degrees C and pressure of 1.10 atm.
The specific storage of a 45-m thick confined aquifer is 3.0 X 10^-5 m^-1. How much water would the aquifer produce if the piezometric surface is lowered by 10 m over an area of 1 km^2
