The data given in Table 36.4 show length measurements (mm) taken on a machined workpiece. The sample size is 5, and the number of samples is 10; thus, the total number of parts measured is 50. The quantity x is the average of five measurements in each sample. Determine the upper and lower control limits and the standard deviation for the population of machined parts.
