CH3OH burns in oxygen (O2) to from carbon dioxide (CO2) and water(H2O). Equal masses of ten grams of gaseous CH3OH and O2 are placed in an evacuated flask of five litres at the temperature of 25 degrees celsius, and the mixture is permitted to react to completion and the flask is returned to 25 degrees celsius. The equilibrium vapor pressure of water at 25 degrees celsius = 23.76 torr. Determine the total pressure inside the flask before the reaction starts?
