Question: At a dam site water is supplied to a hydraulic turbine through a circular pipe of diameter 0.75 m. The mean velocity of water flow in the pipe is 2 m/s. Determine the volume flow rate and the mass flow rate of water. As the water approaches the turbine the diameter of the pipe gets gradually reduced to 0.1 mand the water impinges like a jet on to the vanes. Determine the Reynolds number in the supply pipe.
