A 60 Hz generator is supplying 400 MW (and 0 Mvar) to an infinite bus (with 1.0 per unit voltage) through two parallel transmission lines. Each transmission line has a per unit impedance (100 MVA base) of 0.09j.
The per unit transient reactance for the generator is 0.0375j, the per unit inertia constant for the generator (H) is 20 seconds, and damping is 0.1 per unit (all with a 100 MVA base).
At time = 0, one of the transmission lines experiences a balanced three phase short to ground one third (1/3) of the way down the line from the generator to the infinite bus.
(a) Using the classical generator model, determine the prefault internal voltage magnitude and angle of the generator.
(b) Express the system dynamics during the fault as a set of first order differential equations.
(c) Using Euler's method, determine the generator internal angle at the end of the second timestep. Use an integration step size of one cycle.
How can a fieldbus system be implemented in an existing HART system - how can multiple variables be measured using a single fieldbus instrument?
Water at 120oC with a quality of 25% has its temperature raised 20oC in a constant volume process. What is the new quality and pressure?
Discuss what is meant by "CMRR" and whether it should be a large or small number.
A two-stage CMOS op amp resembling that in Fig. is found to have a slew rate of 60 V/μs and a unity-gain bandwidth ft of 60 MHz. Estimate the value of the overdrive voltage at which the input-stage transistors are operating.
Calculate the apparent molecular weight of the biomass (kg/kmol). Calculate the stoichiometric oxygen requirement for complete combustion of this fuel.
The two-diode circuit shown in Fig. can provide a crude approximation to a sine-wave output when driven by a triangular waveform. To obtain a good approximation, we select the peak of the triangular waveform, V, so that the slope of the desired si..
"This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap, being a force of nature instead of a feverish little clod of ailments and grievances..
Consider the circuit demonstrated in this week's presentation. Analyze the circuit to determine the following (include both polar and complex forms where applicable):
What other information would be required to be able to write a more complete Product Design Specification and derive at least four concept designs to satisfy the given specification. Use short written descriptions and simple sketches to illustra..
What is the phase margin obtained? To increase the phase margin, a resistance R is connected in series with CC. What is the value of R that results in Fz =∞, and what is the resulting phase margin?
Write a OHM code to model this divisicm by constant circuit - Design a synthesirabie convergent rounder with the above specification
