A. Determine the level of measurement for the variables.

B. Write the SPECIFIC NULL hypotheses.

C. Determine if you would reject or not reject the null hypotheses and the reasons for your actions and the conclusions that you would make.

D. What are the significant predictors for whether or not a person had good physical health? What are the reasons for your answers?

E. How do you interpret the odds ratio for females to male?

F. How do you interpret the odds ratio for cognitive score?

G. What other bi-variate statistical test could you use to determine if there was an association between Physical Health and Gender?

II. Given the Two Way ANOVA analysis in Table 2 (attached). Do the following:

A. Determine the level of measurement for all of the variables, (note gender is coded 1 for female and 2 for male).

B. Write the SPECIFIC RESEARCH hypotheses.

C. Determine if you would reject or not reject the null hypotheses, the reasons for your actions.

D. How would you describe the sample using the variables in this analysis? (What would you use for the descriptors?)

E. What bi-variate statistical test could you use to determine if there was an association between sex and marital status?

III. Given the attached dataset, use SPSS to conduct the appropriate bivariate analyses for the dependent variable EMOTIONAL BALANCE (EB) and separately WITH EACH INDEPENDENT VARIABLE: SELF ESTEEM (SE), COGNITIVE (CS) and gender (0=male. 1=female). Indicate the IVs that were significant and the reason for your answers.

IV. Conduct the appropriate SPSS multivariate analysis for the variables that were statistically significant in the bi-variate analyses above (III). What are the null hypotheses for this analysis? Which variables remained significant and the reason for your answers.

V. Given the attached dataset, use SPSS to conduct the appropriate bi-variate analyses for the dependent variable SELFPERCEPTION (interval) and independent variable MaritalStatus (nominal).

A. Do the descriptive statistics

B. Determine if you would reject or not reject the null hypotheses, the reasons for your actions.

C. Do the follow up analysis if appropriate.

D. Write-up your results in paragraph form.
