In today's age, many patients are tech savvy and get much of their drug information from the Internet. Social media plays a big role here as well, catching the patients' eye on their news feed and sharing it with friends. How do we know if the information shared is valid and reliable? Studies have been proven to be not only false but intentionally falsified such as the autism/vaccination study published in the British Medical Journal in 1998.
