In a refrigeration system Refrigerant 22 enters the compressor at 150 kPa and -10 C. It leaves the compressor at 1.0 MPa and 90 C. Assume the mass rate of flow through the compressor is 0.016 kg/s and that the power input to the compressor is 1 kW. The refrigerant leaving the compressor enters a water-cooled condenser at 1.0 MPa and 80 C and leaves the condenser as liquid at 0.90 MPa and 35 C. Liquid water enters the condenser at 10 C and leaves at 20 C (both in the compressed liquid state). Assume no pressure change of the water through the condenser. Assume all processes are steady and the all potential and kinetic energy changes are negligible. For the condenser assume no heat transfer with the surroundings.

a. determine the heat transfer rate from the compressor.

b. determine the rate at which cooling water flows through the condenser.
