A cylinder/piston contains air at ambient conditions, 14.7 lbf/in.2 and 70 F with a volume of 10 ft3. The air is compressed to 100 lbf/in.2 in a reversible polytropic process with exponent n = 1.2, after which it is expanded back to 14.7 lbf/in.2 in a reversible adiabatic process.
