NES/Famicom Super Mario Brothers scaling. Small Mario (figure a) has a height hM = 1.5 m, and while he is underwater runs along the ground with a speed VM = 0.5 m/s. Super Mario (figure b) is twice the height of Small Mario. How fast must Super Mario run in air so that the flows around both Marios are similar?

(Hint: treat both Marios as blunt/bluff bodies like the sphere case, so that achieving similarity means only matching a (single) certain no dimensional quantity).

Next, determine the ratio of the dimensional drag force on Small Mario, FD,M, to that on Super Mario, FD,S, at the running speeds from the first part.
