Consider a high-rate sedimentation basin with tube settlers. The basin is 120 feet long and 30 feet wide. The length of the basin covered by tube settlers is 90 feet. The water depth is 15 feet. The length if the flow path in the tubes is 2 feet, the diameter of the tube is 2 inches. and the tubes are inclined at 60 degree angle.

1) Use recomended design criteria to choose a suitable surface overflow rate in gpm/ft^2.

2) Determin the allowable flow through the basin in million gallons per day (mgd).
