Assessment Task
Design Responsive Web Page Part A Sitemap
Using your preferred software (draw.io, Microsoft Word, Pencil Project) produce a website sitemap (navigation diagram), that shows the hierarchy of the website and navigation. This sitemap will document the architectural requirements of the information for your project. This will be used to document the design structure.
Include notes on the content in each web page. Make sure that the content is in a logical order and the primary information easily accessible to the users/visitors of the website.
On the sitemap note the total file size of images and audio (from Requirements Checklist Assessment 3) next to the appropriate pages to show data storage requirements. Also indicate what XML documents are required for the AJAX component.
Part B Prototype of user interface for responsive web page layout
Using Photoshop, create a visual prototype of the user interface to develop an overall presentation concept. The prototype should represent an aesthetically pleasing web page and position web page elements to achieve the design specification. This will be used to document the design structure.
As this is a responsive layout you should create a separate layout for each screen width (as specified in the requirements checklist Assessment 3 item 11).
Indicate the various element sizes in pixels on the prototype and the differences between the responsive screen widths. Identify the sections of the web page layout on the prototype by annotating the design. At a minimum you should include the following sections: logo, header, navigation menu, main content, web components, footer.
When designing your prototype, make sure you keep up-to-date with latest industry guidelines and trends regarding web page width and layout.
Part C Plan for web components
Produce a detailed plan to analyse the specified requirements including:
• Number of components needed
• Requirements for each component
• Technologies to create each component
• Testing schedule
Include a development schedule for the design of the web components and XML documents including:
• Specific tasks
• Milestones
• Deadlines
Indicate what web components are required, the technologies to create them and expected dates to develop each component. Remember to include a testing phase.
