Question:

Design a tri-gneration system on ASPEN HYSYS.

This system can generate - electricity, heating and cooling.

All data and the drawing on the trigeneration system are attached, However i need someone to do the calculations and analysis on my aberdeen and send me all the data which was put in and all results in a table format.

Design an energy system with the following components:

An internal reforming Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) engine

An organic Rankine cycle (ORC)

Unfired heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) to the ORC condenser

A single effect absorption chiller cycle

I can draw all of these but i simply need the calculations and all the numbers put in on ASPEN and results out.

The following questions have to be answered for assignment and all equations used to find the answers have to be shown

1. Power output from fuel cell and engine efficiency

2. Power output from Organic Rankine Cycle and efficiency

3. Power output from absorption chiller cycle and efficiency

4. Total power output from the energy system

5. A document explaining everything which has been done (DATA INPUTTED AT EACH STAGE AND RESULTS) on aspen hysys including figures, tables and equations.

It would be helpful if an initial design is made first and then this can later be optimized. But it's important for me to see the initial design ASAP. I might be able to do the optimization myself.

If any types of analysis such as energy/exergy analysis, pinch analysis and also environmental analysis of the results can be carried out, this would be highly appreciated. But if it cannot be done, that's fine too.

I have attached a file with some data In addition I have attached,

1. A schematic diagram of the whole energy system

2. A closer look at the ORC to help input into ASPEN HYSYS (ideal regenerative rankine cycle)

3. A closer look at Absorption Chiller Cycle to help input into ASPEN HYSYS can be found here https://www.energy-2030.com/08/pdfs/r-t9-6.pdf.pdf. However, here they have absorber and evaporator have been modelled as heaters. These must be modelled as coolers as we are generating cooling from this cycle.

4. A generic model of a fuel cell on Aspen HYSYS. This does not any of my data inputted and has to be edited.
