YOU have to design a conveyor belt to haul ore, density 1500 kg/loose m3, from 400 m underground to surface up a 15° incline in an underground mine. Peak capacity is to be 3000 tonne/hr, belt speed is advised to be 3 m/s. Assume that the drive has automatic take-up, lagged pulley and a 270° arc of contact.
