The role of human resources (HR) has evolved from its traditional position of support to being a critical entity in any organization. Forty years ago, HR was primarily personnel, focusing on hiring only. Since then, HR has evolved to include all legal aspects of handling people-related issues, as well as leadership development and succession planning. The role of human resources continues to evolve.
