  1. Describe two traits that you believe would be desirable for you to exhibit as a leader.
  2. Define what it means for a leader to have a "positive affective state" and give two examples of how you would maintain this type approach as a leader in a difficult work situation which causes your team member followers to have low morale.

  4. Review the Leadership Grid in the textbook and describe the position numbers (e.g. 5,5) that would be most appropriate for expressing your leader concerns for your team member followers.

3. Finally, assume that you have determined that the situational favorableness of the current project and team member follower relations is low. Describe effective leadership approaches for specific situational needs by addressing the following:

  1. Define the terms leader-member relations, task structure, and leader position power. Assume that your current levels are poor, low, and weak. Indicate the type of motivation (i.e. task or relationship) that would be most appropriate according to Fiedler's Contingency Model of Leader-Situation Matches provided in the textbook.
  2. Describe two types of Path-Goal behavior dimensions that you believe could be appropriate for your leader behavior with your team member followers under the low level of situational favorableness.
