Assignment: Analysis Report
You need to prepare a group analysis report (using Microsoft Word), which requires an amount of computer work and written comment. Do not leave things until too late!! Each task describes what you are required to do, so please follow these carefully!
In this report, you will analyse a survey dataset. It has three variables, namely gender (the categories are male and female), prog (Type of program, with categories: general, academic, and vocational), write (Standardized writing score).
Task I: Teamwork and Report Submission
Work as a team to prepare a report. The report should be written in Word (one file) showing steps of working and rounding numbers with three decimal places. List all group members' name and student number on the Front sheet of the report (excluding the ones who did not contribute). Select one person to submit the report in Canvas on time (it means that a group needs only to submit one report).
Task II: Analyze the variable write
1. Construct a boxplot for thevariable write (including vertical axis title).
2. Describe the shape of the distribution of the variable write.
3. Calculate sum of the variable write values and sum of variable write values square and then use them to calculate sample mean and sample standard deviation of the variable write.
4. Calculate the 99% of the confidence interval.
The following table can be used for this part of Task II:

5. Give a practical interpretation of the confidence interval constructed in part (4).
[Hints: refer to Lecture 2 ("Measures of Central Tendency"), slides 8, 17 to 20 for the calculation of sample mean. Also, see slide 10 in Lecture 3 (Measures of dispersion) for the calculation of sample standard deviation. Regarding the calculation of t-interval, refer to Lecture 8, slide 21]
Task III: Analyze the variables gender and prog
1. Create a contingency table of the variable gender by the variable progas shown below:

2. Calculate the percentage of female student studying in each type of program.
3. Comment on the percentages obtained in part 2.
