Catch Android App Redesign
Catch, (Catch), is one of Australia's largest online shopping platforms. Customers can browse and purchase a wide range of products from fashion, to kitchen appliances and furniture. Catch was founded in 2006 and has grown into a major online destination in Australia since that time, operating both an in-stock retail business as well as marketplace platform with over 1400 independent businesses. They are currently going through a significant growth phase, attracting 30,000 new customers a week, with one order placed every 2.1 seconds and 20,000 parcels being sent every day from its Melbourne fulfilment centres.
Task The current Android app is a hybrid app (website wrapped in an Android native outer shell). As a result, Catch's Android users are served a non-optimal experience in terms of performance and usability which has resulted in average review scores on the Play Store (3.9 stars, 4K reviews) and non-optimal commercial results. Catch would like you to produce a refreshed UX/Design of the entire app for their Native Android rebuild. Having implemented these changes, Catch hopes that the improved UX/Design built in native Android technology, will result in similar review scores and commercial results to Catch's iOS native app (4.8 stars, 300K+ reviews). The new UX/Design must support existing functionality/content, business processes and communication channels and reflect Catch branding. Catch would also like your advice on potential new innovations that could enhance the customer experience.
