Choose a family you would like to interview using the criteria listed in the directions below; this can be your family or another family of your choosing; in order to protect their privacy, you do not need to disclose who you are interviewing

You must come up with questions to ask the family on your own in order to fulfill the requirements for this paper which should be done in advance and support each numbered section below

Guidelines for Family Interview Paper:

1) Explain/describe the interviewed family's structure as outlined on p. 162 (Family Constellation, Primary Group, Single-Parent Family, Stepfamilies, Blended Families, etc.)

2) Address the family functioning as discussed on p. 163 (nurturing and socializing children, providing material and emotional support, and assuming general well-being of all members) as well as family communication (clear expression of personal ideas and feelings even when they differ from those of other members)

Describe the evidence or lack of evidence of Positive Family Functioning within the family that you interviewed - minimum of 1 paragraph
Explain how the interviewed family members engage with people and one another when they have conflict
Describe what strategies the interviewed family has used when attempting to improve their relationships with one another

3) Describe how the interviewed family was positively or negatively impacted by social and economic justice as discussed on p. 164 - minimum of 2 paragraph. Describe family's experience related to ethnocentrism and/racism.

4) In reviewing the various Systems Theory Concepts discussed on pages 166-169 (also see summary at bottom of page 169), explain their family system dynamics as well as any themes or characteristics of successful or unsuccessful relationship strategies. - minimum of 2 paragraphs.
