The isotope, Cesium 137, has a half life of 30 years. Cesium-137 is a produced in nuclear power plants. We currently find high levels of Cs-137 in the area surrounding the highly radioactive reactor in Japan. How long will it take for the isotope to decay to about 1/8th of its original amount?
