Assignment
Your review should be written APA style with a title page, running head, pagination and citations. The review should be no shorter than three to four pages in length excluding title and reference pages. If you feel it needs to be longer, that is OK. It should be double-spaced using 12 pt font, Times Roman.
Start your review by referring to the title of the article in the first paragraph. Include the name of the author.
Summarize the article. Express the main points and arguments of the article in your own words. You can use quotations from the article, but not excessively-no long quotes. You may use one or two short (10 words or less) quotes if you want.
In third person, describe how well the author addressed the topic. Does the article offer a clear, thorough and useful explanation of the subject?
Some points you might consider as you develop your thoughts on this article:
• Privacy establishes a normative framework for deciding who should legitimately have the capability to access and alter information.
• Should the law punish security failures more readily and harshly than privacy ones. In other words, is incompetence worse than malice?
• Security, in contrast to privacy, is the set of technological mechanisms that mediates request for access or control, like needing a password to access your banking account...and your bank security is determined by the software on the bank's server.
• Privacy dictates how security's options should be implemented, the circumstances under which they operate, and the directions in which they should develop.
• Many treat privacy and security as interchangeable and intertwined. Is that a correct way in which to view these concerns?
Conclude the article review. In a paragraph, summarize the main points of the article, as well as your opinions about its significance, accuracy and clarity. Refer to the Writing Rubric I handed out in class, and will also post on Canvas.
