Part 1 (Set-Up and Validation): Include a basic description of the Heat Exchanger Case Study Model and your Simulink Model for the Heat Exchanger Case Study Model; be sure to include the balance equation basis for the Simulink Model (with details in an appendix). Describe how parameters for the transfer functions in the Simulink Model were determined and then show how closely the Simulink Model calculations match the performance of the Heat Exchanger Case Study Model;

Part 2 (Investigation): Include simulation and discussion of the impact of changes to the choice of the manipulated variable. Include stability analysis (root locus plots) as part of the analysis (equations and Matlab input should be included in an appendix). Results should be related to Guideline 6&7 in Chapter 13 and safe operation of the system. Part 3 (Time Delay) Include simulation and discussion of the impact of changing the characteristics of the measurement (gain, time constant, delay). Include stability analysis (root locus plots) as part of the analysis (equations and Matlab input should be included in an appendix). Results should be related to Guideline 12 in Chapter 13 and safe operation.

Extra Credit: Choose a parameter of the heat exchanger system that cannot be directly tested with the Loop Pro Trainer case study and include simulation and discussion of the impact of changing that parameter on the safe operation of the heat exchanger.
