Respond to the following items in an essay.

  1. Briefly summarize the social issue of HOMELESSNESS, and the related policies it has generated.
  2. Describe its global impacts in society and how the homelessness issue has affected individuals experiencing it, groups/ families in the community;
  3. Describe how a social worker might address this issue; and remember to think of all levels of social work practice and roles of the social worker, not only in the role of the direct service
  4. Explain how two of the six core values & principles in the Social Work Code of Ethics are relevant to this social issue/problem. The core values of the code of ethics are; (service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence)

Each of the segments of the exercise (items #1 through #4) should have/include the main idea of that area in the discussion, and should be supported with details that relate to the issue of homelssness, with information from textbooks, article(s) from professional journals, TV News Programs (i.e., Newsweek, CNN, MSNBC, Associated Press, Huffington Post, etc.), or professional Newspapers (such as: New York Times, Times news magazines, The Week, The Economist, or any other quality news-paper), (CITE ALL THE REFERENCES) and any other professional reading materials you choose to use (Please remember, you could be critical of the support materials you use, but you do not need to explain why you agree or disagree - these sources already researched their own positions).
