This is the second part of business policy and strategy project. I choose the clothing retail company H&M as my topic. This project pages are 15 pages minimum, APA format.
The report will be graded on its effective use of strategic management concepts. The purpose of the assignment is to give students the opportunity to demonstrate an understanding of the process of strategy development and analysis, rather than complete a detailed task list.
Each company is unique as to its industry, its position within that industry and its history (think of the strategy differences between IBM and Whole Foods).
Consequently, the areas of specific strategic interest will vary from company to company; I will NOT be providing a fill-in-the-blank template for you to complete this assignment.
As an MBA you will be expected to be able to discern what is important from what is not, and I expect you to do so here.
1. Table contents
2. References (very important)
In the second part, you should focus on how H&M do very well in the fashion clothing industry.
a. Financial (annual report)
b. value chain(how make it better?)
c. market share
d. market structure
a) What is the purpose of the Company? What is its value proposition to current & potential customers? What is their overall business level strategy? Has the company been successful? Why or why not?
b) What external and internal factors assist or hinder the realization of the company's strategy?
c) What plans, policies, activities, & practices does the company undertake to ensure that its strategic goals and objectives are realized?
(A Value Chain analysis will be useful here.) Have they been successful? Why or why not?
d) What have been the growth strategies, if any, of the company (including International penetration)? Have they been successful? Why or why not?
e) Strategically, what should the company do going forward?
Be as comprehensive as is possible. As with all Graduate level work, supported views (e.g., those for which there are external references) will be judged to be more relevant than will those based solely on your suppositions or hypotheticals. That is, provide documentation to support your perspective.
