You will create a power point presentation based on your findings for your final paper. You will be doing this presentation individually. The idea of the presentation is to educate the class on your topic through the skill of oral communication. Your presentation should be a minimum of 5 minutes long, but no longer than 10 minutes. Below is a rubric that should guide your work. There are 5 details for the basis of grading, each is worth 3 points for a total of 15 points for the presentation.

Develop content into a well-organized presentation and uses appropriate language and nonverbals that enhances the fluency of the presentation

Visual aid is interesting, informative (including references incorporated and a reference slide), and within allotted time

Paper Requirements (Page guidelines: 7 to 10 pages double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1 Inch Margins):

Your final will consist of you researching a topic of interest more in-depth. Once you choose your topic from the approved list, you will begin researching more about it. Your paper should consist of an introduction, body, and conclusion. You will also need to have a minimum of 3 academic journals and provide citations where necessary. See rubric below for more information. Your introduction of your paper should provide the reader with an introduction to the topic. You will provide your written topic sentence in this part as well. The body of your paper should consist of a description of your topic in detail and how it pertains to sociology as whole. You will then apply 3 different theories of your choice to your topic, that helps explain your topic and provide a support to your own thoughts on the topic. Then you will propose why this topic is important to discuss and research further, including a development of a possible recommendation that might help researchers and society members understand the need for researching the topic. Requirement list:

- You will need a cover page (title of paper, name, school)

- Introduction (1/2 page to 1 page)

o What is the topic that will be discussed
o How does your topic pertain to sociology
o Provide the topic sentence (developed in earlier in the semester)
o List the theories that will be examined in relation to the topic

- Body(6 pages to 9 pages)

o Provide an in-depth definition and components about the topic

o Provide background information about the topic (developed from the 3 resources discovered)

o Apply 3 different sociological theories to the topic

- Each theory application should be at least one paragraph

- The theory should be defined

- Describe how the theory helps explain or provide support of the topic you chose

- The theory should also support your own claims and thoughts on the topic

- Conclusion (1/2 page to 1 page)

o Why is this topic important to discuss and research

o Propose a recommendation that would help researchers and society members understand the need for researching the topic

- Reference Page

o Required three academic journals you located

o Include any and all other resources (i.e. text book, current events, newspapers, etc.)
