First lab experiment - zinc and copper aqueous solutions were tested in a microscale cell well where the voltage reading was 1.04V. Solutions were each at about 5mL.
The second experiment - zinc and copper were tested again, this time at about 30mL of each and voltage read 1.07V. zinc and copper electrodes were used respectively.
Third Experiment - 4 beakers, 2 of each solutions were connected. Parallel hook up netted a .30V, 118microAmp. Series netted a 1.11V and 589microAmp.
For the first 2 experiments - Could the fact that the surface area of the electrode increased be responsible for the voltage increase? If not that, then why?
3rd Experiment - what is the difference in hook up and why does one increase the voltage and microAmp?
the structure they gave me already has two nonbonding electrons on Bromine with no formal charge
