Could someone help me by giving an example of these questions that defines them:

  • Define your own cultural identity - how do ethnicity, age, family experiences, education, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. define you?
  • How might your cultural identity help you interact with children/families in the school or community setting?
  • How are your values different from the "norm" of society?
  • Think of a time when you became aware of being different from other people...this could be a time you experienced culture shock or just simply a time you felt different from those around you. How did you deal with it?
  • What do you want to do professionally when you graduate? How could being culturally sensitive be value added for your desired profession?
  • How can schools and/or community organizations encourage more culturally responsive curriculum/community engagement?
