Please define this law fully explaining the causal relationship between behaviour and reward.
Think carefully about your own work life. Have you ever experienced this "Law of Effect"? Try to recall when supervising staff if you used reward systems to encourage high quality work. Did it work? Equally, please think about whether you have had a situation where a manager has praised you and you have worked harder and performed better. If you have never been in a situation where reward systems were prevalent, please try to hypothesize a situation in which they would have been valuable.
Question 2
The acronym "SMART" has been used in many ways. However, we discussed it in our unit as a way to focus our attention on setting goals.

Fully explain what SMART means as we have studied it in our unit.
Think carefully about your career goals. Use SMART to explain what the most ambitious one is. Pay specific attention to fully explaining this goal. Be certain to fully indicate the letters of the acronym.
Question 3
Decision making is a critical part of being a student. You are faced with very important decisions when you are very young and normally have not been taught how to make decisions. This unit focuses on decision making in a number of areas. One of them is "Applying Emotional Intelligence in Decision Making".
Required:
In this section, there are four competencies to be used to achieve "Emotional Intelligence". Please explain what those are.
Think of a decision that you have made that was critical. Perhaps your decision to come to Australia for education? Explain what your thinking was with respect to each competency. Fully explain how gaining emotional intelligence assisted you in your decision making.
Question 4
In our unit, we spend a lot of time on the subject of leadership as leadership in a business environment is essential.
Required:
Think carefully about ‘leadership' and define what the expression ‘leadership' represents in your life. Did your parents practice leadership? Or alternatively, did a sports coach or a schoolteacher lead you rather than demand from you?
Please refer to the Leadership Styles concepts and the Blake and Mouton Grid in lecture 8. Please note the five positions. Give an example of receiving leadership in each of those positions. Explain what the circumstances were, who the person exercising the leadership was, what the impact of the leadership was and the result of the leadership.
Question 5
With the introduction of AI, organizations are changing. Positions that used to be filled by humans are now being filled by Chat-gpt. Corporations that are "for profit" will do whatever is necessary to maintain or increase their profitability.
Required:
Do you think it is reasonable that companies save money to increase their profitability and issue more money in dividends by using AI and retrenching workers?
How can you manage your career, so you are not replaced by AI? Think carefully about lecture 10 paying attention to change management, organizational development, abundance/deficit based, Lewin's change model, etc.
