Assignment:
During patient visit to a doctor in an outpatient clinic, the collection of visit's information for the patient medical file will be probably done manually and in a handwritten way. This means that the patient will go home with your prescription in a paper, and later he will need to use it in a pharmacy or may need to use it for additional diagnostic services.
With many obstacles in the way - whether digital infrastructure, stakeholders' adoption in the ecosystem, data privacy concerns, or a fragmented healthcare structure - digitizing the patient journey throughout the different stops becomes a challenge.
How can we adopt a data-driven patient journey to help healthcare providers to make more informed decisions - and to improve patient's outcomes?
Assignment Reflective Questions:
- How can you digitize a patient journey at your facility?
- Illustrate or explain the patient journey across the different steps.
- Define the stakeholders of the journey.
- What are the main components of a digitized patient medical file?
- Discuss the actions would take to ensure readiness of the organization in terms of training, technology tools, process, and data?
- What are the coding systems expected to use? And why?
