Compare the stabilities of an allylic anion and a homoallylic anion, each with the formula C6H11-. An allylic anion has the negative charge on an atom adjacent to the double bond. A homoallylic anion has the negative charge one atom further away. Be sure to delete a hydrogen at the negative center. Explain why one is more stable than the other.
