The reaction, M2O3(s) + C(s) ? M(s) + CO2(g), is spontaneous at low temperatures but non-spontaneous at high temperatures. If we assume that, since the physical states do not change, the values of ?HTo and ?STo are constant over a wide temperature range, including 25.0°C, we can deduce that, over this range

1. ΔH > 0 and ΔS > 0.

2. ΔH < 0 and ΔS < 0.

3. ΔH > 0 and ΔS < 0.

4. ΔH < 0 and ΔS > 0.

Please explain why you think so as im contemplating with two of the choices provided.
