COURSEWORK

Visit the web site of any established Multinational Corporation to explore the business related challenges it faces and the impact they may have on the role of the Human Resource Management (HRM) activities performed within the HRM function. You are then expected to address and evaluate on the following FOUR (4) questions seen generally by HRM specialist as to be of critical concern.

a) Identify the nature of any THREE (3) specific factors within the external business environment that may have the potential to impact the HRM function, and evaluate the implications it may hold in relation to the HRM function.

b) Outline the processes commonly used within these corporations for the following processes to prepare employee for career progression within the organization.

c) Critically evaluate the role of the human resource (HR) department in the recruitment and selection of both for managers of domestic operations and managers of international operations.

d) Identify and analyse any FOUR (4) of the major factors that may contribute to successful performance management for the organisation's workforce.

The word count is indicative. Try to stay with allocated word count as far as possible. Marks are gained for facts and conciseness, and marks are lost for unnecessary material. As a postgraduate student, there is no excuse for poor spelling, bad grammar, or lack of formatting. Use 1.5 lines-spacing with 12-point font size, and pages must be numbered. Use Times New Roman font ONLY.

Referencing is NOT just inserting a list of publications at the end of the report (coursework/assignment), and this is not acceptable. Referencing is NOT just inserting a citation at the end of each paragraph, and is not acceptable. At postgraduate level, you are expected to cite at least 10 to 15 different sources of reference material, and to make multiple references to such material. References MUST be cited using Harvard system (which is author/date). Please do not use footnotes, etc. Read your Communication skills handbook for information on how to cite reference materials. References must be listed alphabetically by author in a single List of References at the end of each coursework/assignment.
